Reorganization: Solana group optimizes production and sales department
In order to improve production and distribution of seed potatoes the German plant breeder Solana GmbH & Co. KG realizes several internal reorganizations. Part of this is the split of the sales department into two separate area units. Unit East, directed by Alexander Schriener and sales manager Hans Kaack, coordinates and manages the distribution of seed potatoes and varieties in many countries of Eastern Europe, North Africa, Middle East and Asia. Divisional director Jan Engfer and sales manager Karsten Grimm are in charge of area unit West, managing the business in Germany and other Western Europe.
The four of them will support the sales activities of international affiliate companies and at the same time function as manager for particular key accounts . Together with Werner Menke, Frank Ohlsen and managing director Torsten Spill they form the management team of Solana with immediate effect.
In the course of this optimization the position of the production director has been canceled. The responsibilities for seed potato multiplication have been transferred to the new area directors and the two sales managers in their respective regions. Furthermore Mareike Blum in her role as production manager is in charge of coordination of seed potato production in the own farms of the group and the co-contracted multiplication farmers.
In addition to still being responsible for production and distribution Torsten Spill will put greater focus on managing Saka Pflanzenzucht and seed potato production. These reorganizations set the foundation for further successful sales activities of the Solana group.
